The letters of מלך, melekh, king, share their strokes until they settle into one form. Above them sits a crown, but I have left the crown a plain black-and-white outline. It is not kingship. It is scaffolding: a human structure that helps us stand near sovereignty without pretending to hold it.
The real King is in the gold around the crown, a brightness that spills past the object and will not be bounded by it. Ritual is scaffolding too, and so are metaphor, language, and art. They give the mind a place to stand close to what it cannot grasp directly. What I watch for is the moment a symbol stops pointing beyond itself and quietly begins to believe it is the very thing it was only meant to name.
